Gabe Goff (Left)
Gabe grew up down in southern California, but has been tromping around the greater Klamath Knot region for the last decade or so now for work and play. After finishing two degrees in Forestry, he spent six years doing wildland fire and fire ecology work for the National Park Service summer through fall, and lecturing for the Forestry Department at Cal Poly Humboldt come spring. Now, he works for the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources extension office in Eureka developing fire resiliency education curriculum and helping get as much good fire on the ground as possible with the HumCo PBA. Gabe is an avid naturalist and fire nerd through and through.
A HumCo PBA member for the past three years, Gabe is excited to put more good fire on the ground, help others in broadening their understanding of what it means to be conscious stewards of the places we live, and continue connecting people to the landscape through hands-on learning.

Henri Holbrook (Right)
Henri has lived and worked in the forests and grasslands of Humboldt County for more than a decade. A California State-Certified Prescribed Fire Burn Boss (CARX), Henri has 8 years of experience planning, leading and conducting prescribed fires and fire trainings throughout Humboldt County. After receiving a BS in Ecological Restoration from Humboldt State University, Henri gained extensive experience in industrial forest restoration, fire management, and fire training instruction while working for various state and federal agencies. During that time, he was also travelling community burner; playing hooky to go burn with other PBA’s, NGO’s, Tribes, and Local Fire Departments across Northern California. An ecology nerd and a community organizer at heart, two things bring him the most joy: Watching a good fire back slowly through a forest and hearing laughs echo down the fireline after bringing our community together around a common goal.
