The Humboldt County PBA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit located on the Northern California coast. Working out of the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources extension office in south Eureka, the PBA provides support to private landowners and other regional partners in planning and implementing prescribed fire projects.


Site Visits: HumCo PBA coordinators meet with you to discuss how fire can be a tool for you to meet your land management goals.


Burn Permits and Smoke Management Plans: HumCo PBA coordinators can assist with the necessary paperwork and planning required to implement a burn project on your property.


Volunteer Coordination: HumCo PBA has a roster of over 400 members! We can coordinate volunteers to help with site preparation and burn days.

Burn Unit Preparation: HumCo PBA coordinators and volunteers help you get your units ready to burn (i.e. control features and infrastructure).

Burn Implementation: HumCo PBA coordinators implement strategies and tactics to safely achieve your burn objectives.



PBA Member Trainings: We provide training opportunities for our members! HumCo PBA coordinators host training throughout the year, and also try to provide opportunities to join trainings hosted by other organizations.
